So many cords around the house - what can you do?

Checkout these great ideas for getting cords out of the way

Whether from lamps, appliances, TVs, computers or even medical devices like oxygen pumps and CPAP machines, electric cords and cables are everywhere, setting up tripping hazards in every room in the house. Take a look around your house, under tables and desks and behind furniture. Even if a cord is out of the way now, it may not take much for it to become a tripping hazard in the future. Let's get those cords secure!

Velcro straps are affordable, easy to use and reusable so you can easily add or delete devices from your setup. The flexible size means once the strap is around your set of cords you can tighten to the proper fit to reduce your cord length. Now you can get loose cords out of the way, prevent tangling and make plugging in and unplugging devices easier. Let's face it, the cords are still there and still unsightly but at least they are not going to cause a fall.

Hide cords along the wall or baseboards using adhesive cord channel clips. They blend seamlessly into décor and keep wires out of the way.  The one at this link is so easy to use.

And whenever you can, use cordless lamps and other cordless devices when you have needs in the center of rooms, so cords are not running across your path to reach the outlet. Modern LED cordless lamps provide bright light to read or play games day or night.

For those of you that are determined to keep your style while managing cords and cables, use a cord-shortening box or cable management box that hides excess length and reduces clutter under desks or near entertainment centers.
